Duende by Madam ZoZo is inspiration for cultural travellers and creative souls; a lifestyle blog about pursuing new experiences around the globe with cultural curiosity and an adventurous spirit.
Duende is a Spanish word with no direct English translation. It is soul and inspiration, which has the inexplicable power to evoke an emotional response. It is the thing that makes the hairs on your arms stand up, the chills run down your spine, and could make you smile or maybe even cry. As the great 19th century literary figure, Goethe, once describe it: “A mysterious force that everyone feels and no philosopher has explained.”
Duende by Madam ZoZo documents the moments of soul and inspiration that I experience in my constant travels and feel compelled to share. I hope you find some duende here too!
The Duende by Madam ZoZo logo features a folding fan, a reference to the flamenco scene in Spain where the word “duende” is said to have originated. The fan represents music, dance, culture and creativity. The handwritten typeface echoes a traveller’s winding journey of roads less travelled, in the quest to discover inspiration and beauty in the world around us.
The Duende logo is the work of Madam ZoZo aka Zoë Peate, creative director of boutique graphic design studio ZP Creative.
